One of our agreements with Butler University for the year round use of Hinkle Fieldhouse is for our club to take tickets during the men's basketball home games. The job is easy. You simply tear the end off tickets as people walk through the door. We need 14 volunteers 18 or older from 2 hours before game time until halftime. You can then watch the 2nd half of each game for free. We are happy to announce two different incentives this season: 1. Volunteers receive a $5 gift card from one of our retail partners (Athletic Annex, The Runners Forum, or The Athlete's Foot - Avon ) for each game worked. 2. A volunteer may agree in advance to work five of the home games this basketball season. Let us know which five games you would like to work. At the end of the season, you will receive a check from Indy Runners for $50 if you work each of your requested games! Important: You cannot receive both incentives for a single game. The Frequently Asked Questions list at the end of this page will answer many of the questions you might have. To sign up for a game or for more information, please email Butlergames@indyrunners.org or call (317)777-2571.

Frequently Asked Questions: Q: Where do we meet on game day? A: Inside gate 1 at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Q: When should I be there? A: Two hours before game time. Please be on time.
Q: Must volunteers be at least 18 years old? A: Yes. This requirement is from Butler.
Q: Where do I park? A: The parking lot in front of Hinkle Fieldhouse is for use only by season ticket holders . Free parking is available along the residential streets to the south of the fieldhouse. Just remember to avoid parking next to a "no parking" sign, next to a fire hydrant, behind a driveway, etc. Give yourself 10 minutes to park and walk to the fieldhouse. Q: What does ticket-taking involve? A: A Butler representative will explain the procedure. It's fairly simple. You stand at your assigned gate and rip tickets. There are typically at least two volunteers at each gate, with at least one experienced ticket taker at the gate. Q: Do I have to be an Indy Runner to take tickets? A: Not at all. We welcome any and all help as Indy Runners is strictly a volunteer-run organization. Q: What if I sign up in advance to work five games but find out later that I won't be able to work one of the games? A: Please let the point of contact know as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours in advance so that we can find a substitute. If you sign up for a game, it's important that you be there. Q: After doing a game for a $5 gift card, can I also volunteer in advance to do five more games and get $50 at the end of the season for those games? A: Yes, you may. The point of the $50 incentive is to help find a group of dependable volunteers who are willing to work several games. It is tough to find enough volunteers to cover every game, and the $50 incentive should help alleviate this. Q: What if I sign up in advance to work five games but forget to show up for a game or show up late for it? A: We're sorry, but you will not be receiving the $50 incentive, although we appreciate your volunteering. The reason is that the $50 incentive is to reward those dependable volunteers who fully cover their assigned games. Q: What happens if I volunteer to do five games but in the end am only able to work four games during the season? A: We're sorry, but you will not be receiving the $50 incentive. Q: How do I get my $5 gift card? A: An Indy Runners representative will give you a gift card when you're done working your game (halftime). Q: How do I get my $50 check? A: $50 checks will be sent out following the last regular season game to those people who signed up in advance to work five games, were on time for each assigned game, and worked each of their games. You are also welcome to work more than five games if you like. We appreciate the help. Q: What if I still have questions? A: You may email Butlergames@indyrunners.org or call (317)777-2571.
