Indy Runners Announcements

Club Runs and Walks Suspended

November 16, 2020: As the number of covid-19 infections and hospitalizations continue to rise in central Indiana and across much of the country, in an effort to help keep our members and neighbors safe, Indy Runners is suspending group runs and walks into December. The Board will continue to evaluate when it is responsible to resume in-person runs/walks and what additional safeguards may need to be employed. In the meantime, we’ll be scheduling Zoom socials and other activities to help our members stay connected, motivated and supported through this time. We know that both movement and a sense of community are valuable now more than ever. We welcome your ideas of how we can continue to support one another through this season by emailing president@indyrunners.org.

Come Enjoy Our Club Runs and Walks

Club Run

November 16, 2020: The club runs/walks are currently suspended due to the spread of Covid-19. See the previous announcement for full details.

Indy Runners offers several club runs and walks each week. These runs occur year-round, including right now! We have a Sunday run at Ft. Harrison, Tuesday run at Hinkle Fieldhouse, Wednesday run and walk at the downtown Atheneaum YMCA, Thursday run in Broad Ripple, and a Saturday run and walk in Broad Ripple. If you haven't made it out to a weekly club run or walk in a while (or ever), we invite you to come out and join us!

Help For Those Struggling

We want to ensure that the club is available to all who want it, and so we've created a fund to cover annual memberships for those who may have been impacted financially by recent events or other life situations. Full details can be found here.

The Drinking Fountain Is Here!

After a long journey, we have ourselves an installed drinking fountain along the new Canal Towpath at 52nd street! Many thanks to all of you who helped (especially our community partners including Beyond MonumentalOrthoIndySt. Vincent, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church & School, Butler University and Dr. Michael Helms. Cheers to Craig Pelusey from Shiel Sexton Company who brought us home through/past several obstacles.

We'll have an opening ceremony with gifts for everyone when it's safe to gather. Stay safe and carry on.
